Ready to eat... almost!

I don’t know what it was that I saw that made me want to try those delectable lil cookie sandwiches, but I am bound and determined to make the perfect macaron.  They are so cute!  Even better than cake pops!  The colors are so vibrant and the fillings are so decadent.  How can anyone see one and not want to try one? 

Okay, so they were a bit cracked and they weren’t all uniform in size but this was my first time.  What I learned was that I need to use blanched almonds so the color stays true.  I might get a more uniform cookie if I draw circles on the underside of the parchment first.  I also learned that I need to turn the oven down and let the macarons cook longer. 

Tomorrow I’ll be trying again!!!
